Hi! I’m Kate. Welcome to Country Mum Style. 

My love of clothes and style dates back to when I was a little girl and got given a pair of hand-me-down black, patent Doc Martins. I loved them, I felt the bees knees in them! I wore them with everything; jeans, skirts, shorts, dresses, I put coloured laces in them – in fact I wore them to death! Most importantly, they made me feel WONDERFUL. That is when I realised how powerful dressing could be. It's the same with interiors; choosing the right colour or scheme for your home can make you feel completely different about how you live.

I unintentionally ended up studying Business at University as I was a little bewildered at eighteen on what I was going to do with my life. This led to a Masters in Fashion Marketing which introduced me to the world of visual merchandising and styling. After stints at John Lewis and Marks and Spencer I felt ready to go it alone and trained as a ‘Personal Stylist’ and set up my own business. I quickly realised that my training in colour analysis was easily transferable to interiors, so I studied to add 'Interior Stylist' to my bow too. Ten years down the line, a move out of Wales, two children and a re-brand later ‘Country Mum Style’ was born.
